Gakiling Primary School is located at beautiful foothills of Gong khola, a down stream from the tail of Black Mountain (Jowodurshing Range between Trongsa and Wangduephodrang).
It is one of the far flung place under Sarpang Dzongkhag with three days dholam officaially. The communities are cent southern Bhutanese with unique culture and tradition of Southern Bhutan. Geographically it is located at the height of 1200m above sea level.
Background
Gong Community Primary School was initially established in late 70s and early 80s but due to Southern Bhutan problem in 90s, the Royal Government of Bhutan has to close the school for almost last 20 years. During those times, the localities have toil a lot for the education of their children. Verbal history says that the parents used to take their children to Korphu, Nabji, Surey, Nanglam, Punakha and Wangdue for the Edcation which double the expenditure for them.
Under the leadership of dynamic and farsighted monarchs of Kingdom of Bhutan (HM Fourth and Fifth Druk Gyalpo), the school was reopened on 2nd June 2009. Currently the school name has changed into Gakiling Primary School from Gong CPS and there are 7 teaching staff and 3 non teaching staff with more 120 students in the school.
Despite the location of the place, the School is striving for place of excellence in wholesome development of children so as to produce civilized and productive citizens for the country. The School sign board designed by the then Principal Mr. Kunzang Tenzin clearly indicates overall structure of School.
